Day 2 Vikas
[Croc/Alligator] calls up by 1am and ready to depart. Gets his Enfield tank
full and reaches my place to pick me up. Okay you guys must be wondering what
happened to my bike. Well, I was about to her along but my front Tyre was
wobbling slightly and new Carburetor to feed the engine was not doing its job
the way it was meant to. Some time went wrong in Service center and I was
unaware of that till the time I took her out to refuel. I knew there were
some problems but one problem did arise, engine Kit started growling and I
felt like I have to replace the kit but it was too late to do that. I did
have a spare kit with me and if I did replace it over night then the engine
would have lasted only for a few hundred kilometers as it was just too new.
We reached Amit's place by 3am and poor guy was waiting for us all the time. We didn't waste any time, we worked on the carrier and attached it with 20 mins. But yet again another problem came up. Now it felt like we were stuck forever and we were not suppose to go to Ladakh this season. Vikas's Enfield had problems yet again. It leaked out enormous amount of Oil out of the vents and felt like the bike would not even survive the plains. Troubleshooting starts and all there of us start brain storming as what's wrong, only to find that Vikas had put almost a litre extra oil. What should I say to that . We left Amit by 3:45am and hit the roads. Now we had no clue about our fellow riders as where they were. All we knew was that the previous night they stayed back at Kalka [On the way to Shimla]. We were expecting them to have reached Shimla but that was not the case. It was way too late for them and over all they were too tiered after all unpacking and sleepless - restless hours. |
